The National Medical Certification and Accreditation Board (NMCAB) requires all credential holders to uphold the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and patient safety. Certification is both a recognition of competence and a commitment to conduct oneself with integrity in all professional activities.

- Maintain current knowledge and skills through required renewal and continuing education.

- Confidentiality & Privacy
- Safeguard patient and employer information in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Share information only as permitted by law and professional standards.
- Respect & Fair Treatment
- Treat all patients, colleagues, and stakeholders with dignity, fairness, and cultural sensitivity.
- Avoid discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or socioeconomic status.
- Compliance with Laws & Standards
- Follow all applicable healthcare regulations, institutional policies, and professional guidelines.
- Abide by NMCAB’s published standards, renewal requirements, and disciplinary processes.
Professional Conduct Expectations
- Uphold the reputation of NMCAB and the NAC™ credential.
- Report unethical or illegal behavior when observed in the workplace.
- Avoid conflicts of interest that compromise professional judgment.
- Cooperate with NMCAB investigations in cases of complaints, appeals, or disciplinary review.
- Refrain from cheating, exam misconduct, falsification of documents, or misuse of credentials.
Enforcement & Disciplinary Action
Violations of the Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct may result in:
- Written warning or probation
- Suspension of credential
- Revocation of credential
- Permanent ineligibility for future NMCAB certification
All complaints are reviewed under NMCAB’s Complaints & Appeals Policy to ensure fairness and due process.
